INTRODUCING TONY'S NOVELS

Following the critical acclaim of "Hannibal's Niece," author Anthony R. Licata brings to the world, a new historical novel titled, "Caesar Obsessed," full of passion, conquest, and tragedy in ancient Gaul.

HANNIBAL'S NIECE

Tony’s epic first novel was 20 years in the making. Hannibal’s Niece is a sweeping tale of the adventures of the Roman general Scipio, who falls in love with a captured slave girl, the beautiful Vibiana.  But she is no mere slave: she is the niece of Rome’s sworn enemy, the dreaded Hannibal of Carthage. Scipio’s  romantic entanglement threatens to ruin his career, as he gambles the fate of the Roman Empire to win her love.

CAESAR OBSESSED

Historians are still debating how Caesar could build a massive bridge over the Rhine river in only ten days  to crush marauding Germanic tribes during his campaign in Gaul. Caesar Obsessed suggests that there was more at play than merely eliminating the enemy. This fascinating story skillfully blends actual historical figures involved in this pivotal event in history with a stunning cast of fictional characters, while exploring an alternative motivation driving Caesar’s urgency to build the bridge.

HISTORY WITH A ROMANTIC TWIST

Meet award-winning novelist and history buff Anthony R. Licata

Years ago as a young student at Harvard Law School, Tony dreamed of being an author and started writing books that took years to finish while he pursued an illustrious legal career in Chicago representing prominent people and businesses around the world. But these stories kept calling to him and now they are being published, reflecting Tony's travels and interest in history. These epic novels are written by a man who grew up in a small rural town in southern Illinois and continues to see the world through that perspective: humble beginnings can lead to much bigger things in life, if only by chance.
Encouraged by the enthusiasm he has experienced from fans of his first novel, "Hannibal's Niece," Tony has more stories in progress. When not busy helping his clients with their legal matters, Tony enjoys sports, travel, fine food and the company of family and friends. He is a devoted Chicagoan.

" Anthony R. Licata shows himself to be a master of character development; I found all the characters to be well-rounded and sympathetic to a point—even as "likable warriors," and they are just that." -Barnes & Noble verified reader, Hannibal's Niece
